Scholarship Opportunities
4-H is open to everyone. Through life-changing 4‑H programs, 4-H youth have taken on critical societal issues, such as addressing community health inequities, engaging in civil discourse and advocating for equity and inclusion for all.
Scholarships for 4-H Educational Opportunities
General County Scholarships
Youth 4-H members who are attending state or national 4-H events, workshops and camps are eligible to receive a county scholarship for registration fees. You must contact the MSU Extension office prior to registering so that we can assist with registration if you would like to utilize one of the listed scholarships. These scholarships can often be applied directly toward the cost of registration, meaning you do not have to pay upfront and then get reimbursed. Scholarship fund amounts vary depending on the cost of the event. Examples of common events and amounts are below:
- 4-H Exploration Days: $40 scholarship
- 4-H Capitol Experience, Great Lakes and Natural Resources Camp, Renewable Energy Camp: $80 scholarship
- Citizenship Washington Focus, National 4-H Summits, National 4-H Congress: $200 scholarship

4-H Scholarships & Recognition Program
Antrim County 4-H Continuing Education Scholarship
Continuing Education Scholarship – One time only, up to (2) $500.00 one-time scholarships available to graduating seniors. Criteria to receive this scholarship include:
- MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
- The 4-H member must be currently active in 4-H in Antrim County.
- The 4-H member must have been active for at least 3 years and have successfully completed projects during that time.
- Amount of involvement the member has had in other areas of 4-H and their community.
- The 4-H member will have successfully completed their high school education and received a diploma.
- The 4-H member will be continuing their education beyond high school at a college or vocational school.
- APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Write 750 – 1000 WORD essay describing your involvement in 4-H and how it has impacted your life.
- Provide a letter of recommendation.
- If you fail to attend a higher education course, the scholarship is forfeited, and repayment is mandatory.

- MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
- Promote the Paper Clover campaign.
- Understand that scholarships may be limited based upon available funds.
- Be an active 4-H youth member in Antrim County and regularly attend 4-H club meetings.
- Understand that if the participant does not attend the event, the scholarship must be reimbursed to Antrim County 4-H, and youth are ineligible for future 4-H scholarships.

Antrim County 4-H Youth Leaders Association Advisory Board Scholarship Application
- Be an active 4-H youth member or volunteer in Antrim County.
- Have a financial need that limits the ability to participation without assistance.
- Only receive a maximum of 4 scholarships per year, scholarships may be limited based upon available funds.
- Before the Event: Return completed application to:
- Within two weeks of the event: submit supporting documents (hotel receipt, agendas, etc.) for reimbursement
- Share their experience with others by attending the upcoming Antrim County 4-H Leaders Association meeting or send a summary of what they learned through their experience.
