• 4-H Mindful Monday: Nature Walks

Often when we think of mindfulness, we think of meditation but mindfulness can be very active. This video explores how we can gain the benefits of mindfulness through the active practice of taking nature walks.

  • Noticing Meditation

Noticing meditation is a great way to manage stress and feel calm when overwhelmed. Close your eyes and take slow deep breaths. Notice things that your hear. Notice things that you smell. Notice things that you feel. Taking a moment to notice what is happening right now, in the present moment, can help you feel calm and regain your composure.

  • Visualization

Visualizing is a mindfulness technique to help you pause and focus on something in order to feel calm. Visualization is just imagining. Imagine that you are at the beach or in the mountains or in your favorite place. What things to you see there? What do you hear? What do you smell? What do you feel? Visualize some place that helps you feel calm and connected.
