Welcome back, alumni!
You may remember your department by a different name — Community, Agriculture, Recreation and Resource Studies (CARRS); Parks, Recreation, and Tourism; Agriculture and Natural Resources Education and Communication Systems (ANRECS); and many others. With so many changes, we understand it’s hard to keep track.
Our department name is now the Department of Community Sustainability (CSUS) — and it’s one that we consider you a member of!

What we've been up to
Welcome back to the department of Community Sustainability alumni network! We hope that you have been enjoying the beautiful spring weather. There are lots of new and exciting things happening in the broader CSUS community.
Two recent announcements we want to highlight come from recent alumnae of the program. CSUS alumna, Alexis Hermiz will receive the 2024 CANR Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Alumni Award. Additionally, we extend a huge congratulations to CSUS alumna Angela Yuan, who was recently announced as MSU's first Schwarzman Scholar. The Schwarzman Scholars program selects students from around the world for a fully funded one-year master’s degree and leadership program at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. This year over 4,200 candidates applied globally with a final class of 150 Schwarzman scholars. We wish a huge congratulations to our amazing alumnae award winners!
We hope you stay in touch however works best for you!
