Expectations
- Participants are encouraged to arrive with their own protective gear/clothing. MSU will have veiled beekeeping jackets (sizes M and XXL) for participants to borrow, but protection from stings is not guaranteed. Honey bees can sting through clothing, including denim. Loose pants and closed toed shoes usually provide better protection than shorts, leggings, and sandals.
- Participants should not bring any other beekeeping equipment besides a beekeeping veil or suit due to biosecurity concerns. Previously used leather gloves will not be permitted.
- All participants are expected to understand that there is a risk of being stung.
Accessibility accommodations
Michigan State University is committed to providing equal opportunity for participation in all programs, services and activities. Accommodations for persons with disabilities may be requested by contacting the event contact, Meghan Milbrath, two weeks prior to the start of the event. Requests received after this date will be honored whenever possible.
