Seminar Title: “Sensory Research for Food & Health: Understanding Sensory Perception and Individual Differences"
Location: S. Anthony 1135 and Zoom
Dr. Ha Nguyen has a background in food science and technology, holding a Bachelor of Engineering in chemical and food engineering and a Master of Engineering in food and beverage technology. She earned her Ph.D. in food science and technology, specializing in sensory and consumer science, from the University of Alberta (Canada). She has experience in both basic and applied sensory science across academic and industrial settings. Prior to joining UC Davis, she was a postdoctoral research fellow in human sensory psychophysics and genetics at the Monell Chemical Senses Center (USA). Her current research program integrates psychophysical, sensory, and consumer approaches with cutting-edge genetic, molecular, physicochemical, and data science techniques to advance sensory knowledge, improve sensory practices for quality control and product innovation, and address global challenges in food and nutrition security.
