MLFCN February Monthly Meeting

Join the MLFCN network call this Thursday, February 20th to prepare for Legislative Education Day at the Capitol with an Advocacy 101 mini training. Stephanie Glidden with Capitol Services will cover topics such as understanding and influencing the legislative process, including how bills become laws; identifying key decision-makers; employing effective communication with lawmakers, crafting compelling messages, and building relationships; and collaborating with other organization to build coalitions and amplify voices. We'll also talk through advocacy strategy development and want to hear about the focus of your advocacy so that we can help you tailor your messaging. As a reminder, Legislative Education Day is Tuesday, February 25th.
The call will also include state and federal legislative updates and conclude with offers, requests, and connections. Please let Kolia (ksouza@msu.edu) or Lindsey (scaleral@msu.edu) know if there are topics you want to discuss on future calls.
