The Dairy Extension team will host several upcoming events in the fall of 2026. Whether you are a dairy farmer, veterinarian or allied professional, we hope to see you at an upcoming event! Most events are on campus in East Lansing, but you can always contact a dairy team expert by phone or email if you have a question or would like to schedule a free on-farm training with our MSU Extension dairy educators.
High oleic soybeans field day
On October 6, MSU Extension educator Phil Durst will host a high oleic soybeans field day in Alpena, Michigan. This afternoon event will take place at Butterwerth Dairy where Paul and Corby Werth will discuss their experience with all aspects of preparing and feeding high oleic soybeans on their dairy farm. Participants will have a chance to view roasting equipment and learn about resources available from MSU Extension.

Allen and Ann Tucker lecture
Join us for the 17th annual H. Allen and Ann Tucker lecture, celebrating the life and work of Animal Science faculty Dr. H. Allen Tucker (1936-2009). Nicole Ayache will present this year's lecture, "Collaborations to Further Dairy's Stewardship Efforts: Current State and Future Path." Nicole is the chief sustainability officer for the National Milk Producers Federation, where she leads sustainability strategy and oversees parts of the FARM program.
The lecture will take place at 10:30 a.m. at the MSU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, 4125 Beaumont Road, Lansing, MI. Bussing is available from Anthony Hall on campus and from the Farm Bureau Pavilion at 4301 Farm Lane, Lansing, MI, as limited parking is available at the Diagnostic Lab. You will receive an email with parking and shuttle bus timing closer to the event. Lunch will be served after the lecture, and bussing is available to return participants to Anthony Hall, the Farm Bureau Pavilion, or the MSU Dairy Cattle Teaching and Research Facility. The lecture will be livestreamed via Zoom, you can register to receive the Zoom link if you are unable to attend in person.

Dairy industry tailgate
The dairy tailgate will take place on October 17, four hours before kickoff when the Spartans play Northwestern. Once the game start time is announced, we will share our tailgate start time. Connect with dairy industry friends over food and fun at the new MSU Dairy Cattle Teaching and Research Center before watching the game. Join us for complimentary food and drinks before the game. Bring the family, reconnect with old friends and meet some new ones!
Tailgate parking will be available at no charge at the dairy but to attend the game you will need to move to a game day parking area. It is recommended to park at the Pavilion and use one of the shuttles. Game Day parking is available in the MSU Pavilion North Lot at $20. Additional parking is available in the commuter lot. The commuter lot parking is $20 and includes shuttle bus service to the stadium. The shuttle starts two hours prior to kickoff and returns for a reasonable amount of time after the game. Dairy Nutrition Roundtable
Dairy nutritionists are invited to join MSU faculty and graduate students at the dairy farm the morning of December 4 for brief presentations on the latest in dairy nutrition research at MSU.
