The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a public meeting to discuss the agency’s “effort to modernize food standards of identity.“ The meeting will be held September 27, 2019, and comments on the subject will be accepted until November 12. FDA says it particularly is looking for changes that could be made across categories of standardized foods (i.e., horizontal changes), to ”promote innovation and provide flexibility for the development of healthier foods.”
