MSU Extension Field Crop Webinar Series returns February 2026
The Field Crops Webinar Series is offered for eight weeks to help prepare for the 2026 growing season.
Field crop producers, consultants and agribusiness professionals are invited to participate in the 2026 Field Crop Webinar Series, a series of eight online meetings addressing field crop production and pest management offered by Michigan State University Extension. Participants can access the expertise of agriculture specialists and educators from the comfort of their home or office.
The theme for this year's series is once again Two for the Price of One: Conversations in Row Crop Agriculture. Each session will feature two speakers giving short presentations and discussing different aspects of the topic in an informal talk-show/podcast format with plenty of opportunity for interaction with the audience. Participants will hear from agricultural experts how to enhance their row crop production systems in the coming season and can ask questions.
The live webinars will run on Monday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m. beginning Feb. 2 and ending March 23, 2026. Topics include the following:
- Feb. 2 (NO RUP CREDITS) – Managing Crops in Variable Climate Conditions - Dr. Jeff Andresen, MSU
- Feb. 9 – Planter Set-Up – Doug Houser and Austin Miller, Iowa State University
- Feb. 16 (NO RUP CREDITS) – Interseeding Cover Crops - Madelyn Celovsky, MSU, and Dan Smith, University of Wisconsin
- Feb. 23 – Insect Control: Insecticide Mode of Action - Dr. Chris DiFonzo, MSU

- March 16 – No-till Corn - Dr. Brook Wilke and Tyson Robbins, MSU
- March 23 – Drones: Spray Coverage, Flying Basics, Uses - Dr. John Fulton, The Ohio State University, and Dr. Simer Virk, Auburn University
Cost of registration is $20 per person for the entire series or $5 for an individual week.
We have been approved for six restricted use pesticide (RUP) applicator credits throughout the course of the program and eight certified crop adviser (CCA) continuing education credits (CEUs). Those who attend the live webinars will be eligible to receive one CCA CEU per week and one RUP credit per week, except for Feb. 2 and 16. Those requesting RUP credits will receive them in Private Core if private applicator or have the choice of Commercial Core or category 1A (field crops) if commercial applicator.
Webinars will be recorded and archived so participants may choose to view the recordings at a later date. Credits are available only for participants in the live sessions.
