Adult Demographic Data Collection

MSU Extension programs are open to everyone. USDA regulations require all institutions that receive federal funding to participate in data collection (The 2024 Statistical Policy Directive No. 15).

Only aggregated information is reported to the USDA. Participants are informed that providing demographic information is voluntary and requested solely for the purpose of determining compliance with federal civil rights laws.

Below you will find civil rights compliance resources for staff who provide programs to adults.  These resources will assist in collecting demographic data, reporting on demographic data that is collected and suggestions on explaining why we collect the demographic data.  These resources are intended for use with online and face to face programs.
