Omo-Turkana Research Network

My project work and activity focus on the dynamic pastoral conflicts and the regional security complex, a path for mitigating the conflict for peace building by taking the diversified pastoralists in the Horn of Africa region specifically, the lower Omo-Turkana corridor. The corridor is characterized by perennial and protracted conflict system with multiple interplay causes. The intricate journey to peace, security and development of pastoral ethnic groups in the study area makes their lives challenging. Moreover, my activities focus on studding the nexus between pastoral livelihood, climate change (environmental shocking), development and conflict. Thus, unpacking this all aspects comprehensively to triumph the socio-cultural, economical, interaction for more cooperation and integration of the region. To boost this idea enriching the data from the local community is important. I am so interested to be part of the network to study and contribute some policy recommendations to address the issues together.
