MSU Extension

Alexis Wheeler is a Michigan State University Extension 4-H program coordinator in Shiawassee County. She has worked in this capacity since September 2024. In this role, Alexis provides leadership and management of local 4-H programs, volunteers, and youth participants in Shiawassee County. She promotes and strengthens the Shiawassee County 4-H program by developing programs and partnerships, promoting and evaluating 4-H programs, and recruiting and training volunteers. Alexis is also the liaison from the state Michigan 4-H office and helps to ensure that statewide opportunities and information is available to local participants.

Alexis grew up in Lenawee County’s 4-H program where her passion and dedication to agriculture and youth development were shaped. Alexis holds a bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness Management from Michigan State University. During college, Alexis worked with MSU Extension as a student employee on the 4-H Exploration Days team. Prior to her current role in Shiawassee County, Alexis served MSU Extension as the 4-H program coordinator for Genesee County.
