MSU Extension

Ian Sawyer is a District Support/Secretary III with MSU Extension, based in Ogemaw County.

Ian provides administrative support to two District Directors, serving across twelve counties: District 4 (Alcona, Arenac, Crawford, Iosco, Ogemaw, Oscoda, and Roscommon) and District 9 (Bay, Genesee, Midland, Saginaw, Shiawassee). She began her MSU Extension career in 2018 as a County Support in Ogemaw County, transitioned to the District 4 Support role in 2019, expanded her responsibilities to include District 11 North in 2021, and transitioned to support Districts 4 and 9 in 2026.

Ian holds a Master of Science in Administration with a concentration in leadership from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Arts from Grand Valley State University, where she studied French linguistics and Arabic. Additionally, Ian is a licensed real estate agent in the state of Michigan, a Certified Human Resource Specialist, and has earned a certificate in Organizational Inclusion and Diversity from Michigan State University, as well as a Certificate for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace from the University of South Florida.
