Julia Simon is a Michigan State University Extension Community Nutrition Instructor serving Lapeer County.  As a Community Nutrition Instructor, Julia partners with non-profit community organizations to offer a variety of engaging and interactive programs that provide USDA-approved curriculum surrounding nutrition, health, wellness and physical activity. Through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed), these programs serve low-income audiences at no cost. They are available for youth and adults in various class settings and in both series and one-time presentations. In addition, Julia supports community partners by offering coaching to promote policy, system and environmental (PSE) changes that encourage healthy behaviors. PSE changes make the healthier choice the easier choice!
 
Julia earned a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics (2012), a Master of Science in Health Promotion (2016), is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (2014), and is ServSafe certified. She brings a wealth of experience and strong passion for empowering others to improve their health and overall well-being.
