Kathleen’s interest in food and agriculture started while working on an urban farm in Rhode Island, where she received her Bachelor’s degree from Providence College in Public and Community Service Studies with a focus in Environmental Justice and Sustainability. Upon graduation, Kathleen completed a farm apprenticeship and then spent time farming in New York State before moving to Michigan.
Kathleen is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Community Sustainability with a focus in Community Food and Agricultural System Development. Her thesis work focuses on farmer education programs in Michigan. She hopes to work in urban communities around issues of food and agriculture upon graduation from MSU.
