Lisa Renye
Lisa Renye is the Kent County Consumer Horticulture Secretary.
Lisa relocated from her lifelong home of Mobile, Alabama in 2022 to live and work on an organic produce farm founded by a friend in White Cloud, Michigan. While she had obtained her B.S. in Business Management and used her degree to work in various roles and industries in Mobile, she wanted to branch out and explore a new opportunity. In her time at the farm, Lisa was able to learn more about how to grow her own food and experience the fulfillment of providing locally grown food to her community.
Unfortunately, Lisa’s friend decided to move on from farming, but Lisa had fallen in love with Michigan and decided to stay in the area. She is thankful to have found this position at MSU Extension that allows for continued learning on her part and an opportunity to support others in their pursuit of horticulture education.
