Sara Malone
Sara Malone is a Michigan State University Extension 4-H Supervising and Staff Development Extension Educator in the Children and Youth Institute. Her primary office is in Cheboygan County. She has supervisory responsibilities for 4-H Program Coordinator staff in Districts 4 and 14: Charlevoix, Emmet, Cheboygan, Otsego, Presque Isle, Montmorency, Alpena, Crawford, Roscommon, Oscoda, Ogemaw, Alcona, Iosco, and Arenac Counties. In addition, Sara focuses on positive youth development in her statewide role. Her goal is to ensure that 4-H program staff have the resources and training to provide quality 4-H opportunities to area youth.
Prior to rejoining MSU Extension, Sara was a Teaching Lecturer in the Animal Science Department at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. She was also the Equine Program Coordinator and an Assistant Professor in the Animal Science Department at Morehead State University in Morehead, KY from 2014-2018. Sara holds a PhD in Veterinary Science from the University of Melbourne in Australia, as well as a Masters from Rutgers and a Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University, in Animal Science.
