Bio
Sharron (Ronnie) Miller is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Entomology at Michigan State University in Rufus Isaacs’ lab. She earned a B.S. in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from the University of Nevada, Reno, and an A.S. from Truckee Meadows Community College.
Miller’s research focuses on native bee communities in natural, urban and agricultural landscapes in Michigan. Her work examines how pesticide exposure and host plant use vary across these landscapes and explores opportunities for conservation and outreach. The goal of her graduate research is to understand how human activity affects bees in different environments and use that knowledge to support coexistence with these pollinators.
She also participates in outreach, extension and community service to educate the public about bees.
