Stephanie has been a Supervisor and Food Safety Educator for Michigan State University Extension since 2016. She is based in Delta County in District 1 in the Upper Peninsula, primarily covering Baraga, Delta, Dickinson, Gogebic, Houghton, Iron, Keweenaw, Menominee, and Ontonagon counties. In her supervisory role, Stephanie coaches and manages staff that provide nutrition and physical activity education to low income audiences in the Central and Upper Peninsula.
Stephanie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Exercise Science from Grand Valley State University and her Master of Public Health Degree in Health Behavior Health Education from the University of Michigan. Stephanie is a Certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine and serves as a delegate with the EDEN (Extension Disaster Education Network) team specializing in food safety. She has been a member of NEAFCS (National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences) since 2016. Stephanie offers research-based food safety educational programs in the Central and Western counties of the Upper Peninsula including:
