Farm Tax Seminar

This course offers 4 hours of CE credit and is taught by Larry Borton and Kelly Tobin. It will review topics from IRS Publication 225, the Farmers Tax Guide and LGUTEF 2025 Ag Tax Issues.

  • Update on planning with the 2025 OBBA and sunsetting laws
  • Handling CCC marketing loans
  • Death of a farmer and unused carryovers
  • Depreciation update on ag buildings and structures
  • Climate smart ag practices and inflation reduction act credits
  • Review of disaster tax provisions
  • Sale of inherited farm assets
  • Tax planning for low-income years
  • Examples will be used to lead discussions and encourage participation

Registration fee is $120, if received 14 days prior to seminar. After that, it increases to $135.

Registration and pick-up of materials will begin at 8:00 am.  Instruction is from 8:30 am to noon.  Please note on the registration form if you will be staying for lunch (no extra charge).

The Session on November 19 will be a webinar. Registration fee for the webinar is $120. Registration and payment must be received 14 days before class. There will be no late registrations. Instruction for the webinar  is from 8:30 am to noon.
