Hanami Spring Picnic
Update (May 2): The event will proceed as scheduled, rain or shine. Due to predicted inclement weather, activities will be relocated indoors as much as possible to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all guests. Visitors are still encouraged to explore the Sakura Garden, where the seasonal flora and fauna remain on beautiful display.
Celebrate the arrival of spring in our Sakura Garden, embracing the beautiful Japanese tradition of Hanami! Join us for a picnic-style gathering beneath the cherry blossoms, where you can relax and enjoy Japanese music, food, crafts and demonstrations. Immerse yourself in Japanese culture with traditional tea sampling and the dynamic rhythms of the Godaiko Drummers alongside the Tanoshii Taiko Tai (GLTC). Be serenaded by the enchanting sounds of the Sakura Japanese Instrumental Group and participate in the lively Bon Odori Dance. For creative expression, try your hand at origami and lantern making. Gift items will also be available for sale.
As this event is held outdoors, we encourage you to bring your own picnic blanket or chair for ultimate comfort.
Advance tickets are available for $10, with free admission for children under 4.
Walk-Ins are welcome on May 4 for $12 each, with free admission for children under 4.
We look forward to welcoming you to our Sakura Garden!
