Expanding Access to Traditional Foods with Elder Food Boxes

The tribal elder food box program connects Indigenous communities with traditional and locally grown foods while supporting food sovereignty, cultural connection and healthier communities through collaboration between tribal colleges and MSU Extension.
Watch the video to learn more about this initiative of the Michigan Inter-Tribal Land Grant Extension System (MILES) to improve food access for Michigan's Tribal Nations and communities. The effort was a collaboration between Bay Mills Community College, Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College, Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College, and Michigan State University Extension.
