BE 230 Engineering Analysis of Biological Systems students formed teams and selected a topic relating to a theme. This year the theme was examining a system relating to biosystems engineering and understanding the units within. The system was examined in the context of ecosystems services and the one unit that had the greatest potential impact highlighted. This unit will likely be the most novel, backed by the least amount of data, not demonstrated at a commercial scale, and/or very dependent on the availability of its raw materials. Consequently, for this unit, the students were to prepare an outline for a research program to give confidence on the potential implementation of the system.
