Dr. Leah Cahill is the Principal Investigator of the Nourish Research Team at Nova Scotia Health and Dalhousie University, where she holds the Howard Webster Research Chair in the Department of Medicine. A registered dietitian and researcher, Dr. Cahill completed her PhD at the University of Toronto before spending five years as a postdoctoral scientist at Harvard University. Dr. Cahill is passionate about how good nutrition can help people live healthier, longer lives. Her research team studies healthy aging and the prevention and treatment of cardiometabolic diseases using interventional, epidemiological, and clinical patient-oriented research methods (www.nourishteam.ca). Dr. Cahill and her nourish team works closely with patients, healthcare providers, and communities to ensure that research addresses real-world needs and leads to practical improvements in health and healthcare.
