Join the Michigan Farm to ECE Network this August 11–14 for Plant, Grow, Share: A Farm to ECE Workshop Series. Four engaging virtual sessions will focus on bringing farm-to-ECE practices into your classroom. Learn practical ways to introduce children to gardening, nutrition, and local food systems—while earning a $100 stipend for your participation in at least 3 of the 4 sessions! Each session takes place from 10 am to 12 pm ET.
This third workshop in the four-part series will focus on local food procurement in early care and education settings. In this session, discover how to source and serve local foods in your childcare setting—easily and affordably.
This series of virtual workshops will feature interactive sessions, peer-to-peer learning and mentorship, as well as exciting opportunities to connect with farmers and collaborate with early childhood providers across Michigan.

The Farm to ECE Institute is structured around three core pillars:
- Procurement – Buying and serving local foods
- Gardening – Providing hands-on learning experiences
- Nutrition Agriculture Education – Integrating agricultural education into early childhood programs through food related curricula, farm and garden books, taste testing, farmer visits, sensory experiences, etc.
