4-H Camp
2025 THUMB AREA 4-H CAMP
Forty (40) youth, eleven (11) teen counselors and eleven (11) adult chaperones from Huron, Lapeer, St. Clair, Sanilac and Tuscola Counties attended Thumb Area 4-H Camp held at Camp Stapleton in Lexington, June 24-26, 2025. The main purpose was to get youth (4-H and non-4-H), ages 9 to 14 years of age, involved in an outdoor-living experience.
Our awesome team of 4-H teen camp counselors and five (5) MSU Extension 4-H staff are responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of the Thumb Area 4-H Camp program. Throughout the year, committee members are involved in numerous workshops and trainings in preparation for Thumb Area 4-H Camp.
Thumb Area 4-H Camp offers a golden opportunity to youth to make new friends and share experiences in camping, all while building and developing life skills. 4-H Camp featured arts and crafts, singing, outdoor games, campfires and s’mores. “Barnyard Basics” was this year’s theme for Thumb Area 4-H Camp.
Activity sessions included outdoor skills, farm hand challenge, cabin games, skits, archery, swimming in Lake Huron, team building events, and a Harvest Festival evening.
