Parity
Question: What is the measurement for parity assessments of participant racial, ethnic, and gender (REG) data?
Answer: Each REG group’s representation in the eligible group should be reflected within 80 percent of those who benefit from a program or activity. For example, if a state’s population is 26 percent Hispanic or Latino, this group’s participation in each program category should be at or above 21 percent (.26 x .8 = .21).
Question: Where do I find REG data for my work team?
Answer: Work team REG data can be found at the links below:
- Parity Data by Work Team 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 YTD* (*2023 is YTD as of 8/28/23)
- NPA Parity Data by Grant 2020, 2021, 2022* (*2022 is YTD as of 9/12/22)
Question: Where can I find my participants REG data?
Answer: It is emailed to you annual for Individual Action Plans, usually in October. You can also view this data in our reporting system, PEARS. (reach out to Norma at nlundeen@msu.edu with PEARS questions)
About Parity is a document that can help you determine if your programs are reaching your audiences in proportion to their representation in the community. It is an essential part of our 'all reasonable effort' expectations.
