Background:

Erik holds a bachelor's degree in biology from Canisius University in Buffalo, NY. After graduation, he worked for Tesla’s Autopilot AI team and, more recently, for New York State’s Department of Environmental Conservation. Working in the Molecular and Evolutionary Ecology Research (MEER) lab, his project focuses on developing genetic techniques to investigate the effects of the FishPass project on the Boardman River in Traverse Bay, MI. Erik is originally from Western New York, growing up less than a mile from Lake Erie. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, hiking, and playing hockey.
