Alexa Warwick
Background:
Gia Haddock (she/they) is a Masters student working with Dr. Alexa Warwick. Her project is exploring the human dimensions of stakeholders in the amphibian trade network that drive socioeconomic feedbacks and pathogen dynamics. This is a continuation of their work as an MSUFW undergraduate. Before graduating in December 2021, Gia was heavily involved in the student radio station, Impact89FM, as a Specialty Show host and the Programming Assistant. They also have experience in conflict resolution, creating anti-oppressive and healthy organizational environments, and natural resource interpretation. In the FW realm, she worked as a herptile field technician (primarily with massasauga rattlesnakes), a Forest Ranger for Siuslaw National Forest, and most recently as a zebrafish lab manager for the Ganz Lab here at MSU. In their spare time (if not cuddling their cat), Gia loves to rock climb, be outside, pour over cookbooks, forage for wild edibles, make pottery, and practice yoga.
