Background:

Joris Van Zeghbroeck is a Ph.D. candidate in the Center for Systems Integration and Sustainability at Michigan State University. His research focuses on assessing the social, economic, and environmental sustainability of agri-food systems at scales ranging from the local to the global. His work aims to understand how cross-scale dynamics influence agricultural production systems and the cascading impacts this has on livelihoods and food security. Before starting his Ph.D., Joris built a nonprofit career conducting gardening and cooking education programs for K-12 students across Indianapolis, IN, and Miami-Dade County, FL.
