Joshua Ombaka Owade started as a postdoctoral research associate with the Bergholz Lab in the summer of 2022. He received a Ph.D. in Food Science and Technology in 2021 and a MSc. of Food Safety and Quality in 2018, both from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. His current research is on the quantitative microbial risk modelling of Escherichia coli O157:H7 in different physiological states in fresh produce. Other research interests include food policy research, product development, and process optimization.
