Background:

My work focuses on protecting Great Lakes ecosystems by bridging animal behavior, stakeholder engagement, and applied conservation management. Currently, I am leading a global systematic map to synthesize evidence on sea lamprey capture and trapping methods, creating an open-access evidence base to guide future control strategies and research priorities. This builds directly on my Ph.D. research at MSU, where I used fine-scale acoustic telemetry to track how upstream-migrating sea lamprey navigate river systems and make fine-scale movement decisions. My research interests include behavioral ecology, community engagement, and translating animal behavior into effective management practices. When I'm not tracking lampreys, you can usually find me tracking jammers while playing roller derby!
