David Mather is a fixed-term Assistant Professor of International Development in AFRE, associated with the Food Security Group. His research focuses on rural development and food policy issues in sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia and Central America. Prior to his graduate studies, he worked at Development Alternatives Inc in Bethesda MD, the Center for Agricultural Export Development at the University of Kentucky, and as an English teacher in Madrid, Spain. He is currently working on Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Food Security Policy Research, Capacity, and Influence.
