Biography: Ugo Bussy holds a B.S. in Chemistry from University Paris XI, a M.S. in Chemistry from University of Nantes, France and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of Nantes, France. During his graduate research Dr. Bussy focused on the development of modern analytical chemistry methodology to simulate the formation of reactive metabolites. Ugo spent over three years at Michigan State University in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife as a postdoctoral researcher. In Professor Weiming Li’s lab, Ugo worked on developing and validating mass spectrometry methods to measure endogenous chemical markers of sea lamprey physiological functions. Ugo also worked on elucidating in vivo metabolism of TFM, a pesticide widely used for the control of sea lamprey population in the Great Lakes. This work led to his award for Postdoctoral Excellence in Research in 2015.

Ugo holds a Principal Scientist position at Mars Incorporated and remains connected to academic research with whom he regularly collaborates. Ugo regularly publishes his work and communicates at international conferences on the subject of modern analytical chemistry method development and validation.
