• Cultivars: A variety of Dutch elm disease-resistant cultivars are now available in the nursery market. These include selections of American elm (Ulmus americana) that have been identified as Dutch elm disease-tolerant through intensive, long-term screening programs. ‘Valley Forge’ – green summer foliage, changing to yellow in fall. National Arboretum introduction. Best Dutch elm disease-tolerance among American elms tested. Zone 5. ‘New Harmony’ – second to Valley Forge in Dutch elm disease tolerance. More attractive foliage and better nursery form than ‘Valley Forge’. Zone 4.
