Statewide & Regional Food Systems Plans National Community of Practice (NCoP) Session — A Story of Food Systems Planning and Action in Hawaiʻi

This presentation traces the evolution of recent food systems planning and collective action in Hawaiʻi, highlighting efforts to move from fragmented initiatives toward more coordinated, statewide approaches to food system transformation. Drawing on experience across research, policy, community engagement, and statewide network building, Albie Miles and Amanda Shaw will examine lessons learned, emerging opportunities, and the importance of collaboration across government, agriculture, education, community organizations, and other food system stakeholders.

Coordinated by the Michigan State University Center for Regional Food Systems, the Statewide and Regional Food System Plans National Community of Practice, is a national, multi-state space that convenes leaders from current and emerging food system plan efforts across the country to increase our collective knowledge and capacity to collaborate and strengthen local and regional food systems using an equity approach.
