Lindsey Scalera coordinates the MSU Center for Regional Food Systems' Policy and Leadership Programs team and work, grounded in the Michigan Good Food Charter. She collaborates with partners across the state and nation to support the development of regional food policy efforts that are representative of and responsive to local & regional food systems stakeholders. 

In this role, Lindsey stewards the Michigan Good Food Charter initiative, the Michigan Local Food Council Network, and the development of a National Community of Practice for states and regions food systems plans/charters.

Lindsey brings nearly two decades of experience in community organizing, group development, and policy advocacy. In previous roles, she was the Sustainable Food Program Director for Michigan’s Ecology Center where she served as a Regional Organizer for Health Care Without Harm's Healthy Food in Health Care program and as the Co-Lead for the Michigan Farm to Institution Network

Lindsey got her start in food systems as co-founder of a local community garden and the Michigan Young Farmer Coalition while earning her master's degree in Social Foundations of Education, specializing in EcoJustice Education from Eastern Michigan University.
