How did the FSHN study abroad scholarship funds you received helped enhance your experience within your major?
The scholarship funds I received allowed me to fully invest myself and my time into this experience. I was granted the privilege of immersing myself into another people’s culture, community, food, music, land, and history. Most importantly, I was able to contribute to the growth and wellbeing of primary school children and their educators, as a global citizen. To me, there are few things more precious and fulfilling than giving and receiving in tandem, which enriches the bodies and minds of both parties. We grow together. The scholarship funding also allowed me to step outside of the imposed curriculum, and experience even more of Belize, like climbing Mayan ruins as we hear stories of the old world. It was an absolute honor to be able to have this experience.
