Bekah Galang
Bekah Galang is an On-Call Aide supporting communications at the Center for Regional Food systems. She is also currently a small business consultant providing food and beverage businesses with bespoke systems for managing staff, customer service, and community outreach. In her previous 10-year role at Avalon International Breads, she served as the retail operations and marketing director working to develop leadership, serve delicious food, and create a space that nourished the community. Bekah has been a Keep Growing Detroit board of directors member and co-chair from 2020-2023, and a volunteer and GRP member since 2014. She has also served as the secretary on the founding board of Slow Food Detroit Central City and the planning committee for Make Food Not Waste. Her extensive food systems background includes working on farms, working at a statewide food access organization, employment at both non-profit and for-profit food organizations, and has over 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry. Bekah has a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University’s Residential College of Arts and Humanities and Honors College.
