Nicole Coutrelis
Nicole Coutrelis is a recently retired food law lawyer. She was called to the Paris Bar in 1985. She spent over 30 years in private practice with Coutrelis & Associates. She specialized in food law practice, counseling, lobbying and litigating, in France, in other EU member states, and before the European Court of Justice and Court of First Instance in Luxembourg. Her most recent position was as partner with DWF, a leading global provider of integrated legal and business services.
Before starting her private practice, Mme. Coutrelis worked at Intercéréales, a private non-profit association representing cereals in France, where she was in charge of European Affairs. She was then Agricultural Attaché for the French Permanent Representation to the European Commission in Brussels, and later joined the Legal Service of the European Commission.
Nicole Coutrelis is also past President of the European Food Law Association. She is the author of many articles related to European food law. Her previous firm, Coutrelis & Associates, was the first European law firm to join the Food and Drug Law Institute in Washington, D.C.
Mme. Coutrelis is a contributing subject matter expert to IFLR's course International Food Laws and Regulations.
