Forests as Social-Ecological Systems: People, Institutions, and the Future of Forestry
This presentation traces the evolution of a Human Dimensions of Forestry program from early questions about people and forests to an integrated stakeholder-driven lab. Centering forests as social-ecological systems, it highlights scholarship on landowner behavior, governance, knowledge co-production, climate adaptation, and forest products innovation while showing how research, teaching, and Extension reinforce each other.
