Emerald Ash Borer Biological Control: History, Status, and Impacts
Emerald ash borer (EAB) was first discovered in North America in 2002 and poses a significant threat to our ash resource. Releases of parasitoids that attack EAB in its native range were initiated in North America in 2007 as a long-term management strategy. We collected data at parasitoid release sites over a 16-year period that provide evidence that introduced EAB parasitoids can significantly reduce EAB population growth which should improve ash tree survival.
