Lignin Valorization: From Scientific Discovery to Industrial Impact
Lignin, an abundant byproduct of the pulp and paper industries, offers a sustainable alternative to petroleum-based feedstocks for producing biobased adhesives, coatings, composites, and foams. This talk highlights the journey from fundamental discovery to scalable, bio-based technologies, showing how lignin, through strategic industry partnerships, is transformed into high-performance sustainable bioproducts for the automotive, construction, and packaging industries. This innovative research has trained highly qualified scholars equipped to lead future innovation and advance the circular bioeconomy.
