Trent Thompson and Bridgett Blough are the co-owners of Of The Land, a diversified farm and event destination in Battle Creek, Michigan. Together, they have spent more than 15 years building a business rooted in local food, community connections, and a deep appreciation for the land. Trent, a Michigan State University graduate, brings extensive experience in organic vegetable production, while Bridgett's expertise in the culinary arts, hospitality, and event management has been instrumental in shaping many of the farm's most distinctive offerings.
Over the years, Trent and Bridgett have transformed Of The Land into a multifaceted enterprise that includes vegetable and flower production, farm-to-table catering, prepared foods, weddings and events, community programming, and The Green Box, a local food distribution program that connects customers with products from dozens of Michigan farms and food businesses.
Their work is guided by a belief that farms can be more than places that produce food. Through creative entrepreneurship, collaboration, and community engagement, they have built a farm that brings people together while creating new opportunities for local growers and food producers. Trent and Bridgett live and work on the farm with their three children, where they continue to grow food, flowers, and meaningful connections within their community.
