Why mindfulness?
Research shows that practicing mindfulness can reduce stress-related symptoms such as worry, depression and physical tension. It may also be helpful in managing chronic conditions such as cardiac disease and diabetes.
MSU Extension offers a variety of mindfulness and stress reduction programs to fit people’s diverse needs.
Because of MSU Extension‘s mindfulness programming, people across the state and beyond have learned positive strategies to deal with everyday stress.

- Dealing with everyday stress.
- Dealing with anxiety, grief or depression.
- Living with a chronic condition, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and substance use disorders.
- Interested in improving healthy eating and sleeping habits.
- Interested in strengthening their connection to, and self-awareness of, mind, body and heart.
