- Research, teaching and Extension outreach on alfalfa productivity and feed quality including alfalfa variety characteristics, drying differences, yield potentials and management systems that utilize precision agricultural in the production of alfalfa.
- Research, teaching and Extension outreach on soil and seed enhancements to increase forage yield and forage quality including: sulfur fertilizer, biological enhancements, and foliar fertilizers
- Research, teaching, and Extension outreach on the management of grass/legume forage mixtures for hay, silage, and pasture.
- Research, teaching, and Extension outreach on the use of cover crops for soil improvement and livestock feed.
- Research, teaching and Extension outreach on corn silage production, management, and feed quality enhancement for uses across all of Michigan for the livestock and dairy industry.
- Research, teaching and Extension outreach on grazing management.
- Research, teaching and Extension outreach on irrigation for hayland and pastures.
- Research, teaching and Extension outreach on emerging weeds, insects & nematode pests impacting forages.
- Research, teaching and Extension outreach on soil health to benefit forage crops and their environment.
- Research, teaching and Extension outreach on economics of all systems of forage production including production costs.
